Dara took the helm as CEO of Havas PR, North America in 2024, leveraging her acute understanding of agency leadership and ever-changing world of earned and social media.
Previously, Dara was the CEO of 5WPR where she ran the agency’s day-to-day and led its award-winning consumer division, building it into an industry powerhouse known for its ability to craft and execute strategic communications plans that build brands, drive sales and cement clients at the intersection of consumer behavior and cultural moments. She was a pioneer in social media, launching 5W’s social + influencer offering well before any of its competitors. Under Dara’s leadership, 5WPR was named on of Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces, a Top 50 Global PR Agency by PRovoke Media, a top three NYC PR agency by O’Dwyer and has been awarded multiple American Business Awards, including a Stevie Award for Agency of the Year. Prior to joining 5WPR, Dara was the Executive Vice President/Managing Director at Rubenstein Public Relations, where she worked for nearly 20 years, managing the luxury/lifestyle division in addition to oversight of all agency practices.
Dara was honored by American Business Awards as their 2023 Woman of the Year: PR and Marketing. She has also been named one of Campaigns 2023 US Inspiring Women and Female Executives of the Year in the PR and Communications Category by the TITAN Women in Business Awards. Other accolades include being honored as a Game Changer in Ragan’s Top Women in Communications Awards and receiving a Silver Stevie Award in the Maverick of the Year “Women in Business” category.
Meet Nelliette, a dynamic publicist with a true passion for the US Hispanic market. With experience on both the in-house and agency sides, Nell, has navigated the world of public relations for almost 15 years. Armed with a degree in journalism, a certification as a digital marketer from NYU and a master in global communication in progress she initially set out to be a TV reporter and did her internship at the Puerto Rico Public Broadcast Corporation. However, fate had other plans, steering her toward a natural talent for public relations.
From banking to pharmaceuticals, healthcare to food and beverage, and professional associations, Nell has tackled it all on the agency side. On the client side, the portfolio is equally exceptional, featuring NPOs, retail, and health insurance companies. Brands like Kraft, PR Banking Association, GlaxoSmithKline, Wyeth, Intuit (TurboTax and QuickBooks), JP Morgan Chase, Panda Express, Amazon, PepsiCo, and more have all benefited from her expertise.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she made the move to Miami in 2017. Almost two years later, on the day of love and affection, February 14, she joined Havas Formula as an AE. Since then, has grown with the company, which is affectionately called “my school,” and now serves as an Associate Director. In this role, she provides strategic counseling for PR programs, creates, and oversees the execution of PR strategies, is a media relations guru, oversees content creation and media relations tactics, and much more.
When not working, you can find this tropical girl dancing salsa, working out, reading, or traveling. While coffee is not her thing, she swears by tea, believing it can fix anything—a wisdom passed down from a beloved grandmother. And the superpower? Having a remedy for everything!
